Humble Beginnings
The inspiration to start Verdant Horticulture and Maintenance stems from my childhood experiences with my parents, who cultivated beautiful acreage gardens in the Southern Tablelands and Southern Highlands of NSW. These gardens left a lasting impression on me, fostering a deep appreciation for nature. In 2018, we relocated our young family to the Sunshine Coast, seeking a lifestyle change after a career in digital marketing. This move, coupled with the motivation from Emrys Pratt at Harmony Landscapes and a Landscape Construction apprenticeship, led me to establish our boutique landscape gardening company in 2021.
Our vision for Verdant is to create lush, sustainable gardens that thrive without relying on harsh chemicals. The consistent feedback from our clients has highlighted a demand for eco-friendly solutions, prompting us to focus on maintaining garden beds with only desirable plants, free from synthetic herbicides. Our mission is to provide beautiful, healthy landscapes while preserving the environment for future generations.

We cater to clients across the Sunshine Coast, Noosa Shire, and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Our skilled and knowledgeable team is dedicated to enhancing the natural beauty of these areas with sustainable practices.
Having grown up on a sheep farm, I witnessed firsthand the widespread use of herbicides and synthetic fertilizers in managing weeds. Seeking a more sustainable approach, I explored methods to improve soil health on my property without resorting to these chemicals. This journey led to an understanding of soil structure and the vital role of soil microbes.
The partnership with WeedTechnics and the integration of their Saturated Steam (Satusteam) technology into our services align perfectly with our eco-friendly ethos. The Satusteam method eradicates weeds using steam, leaving only water behind, which preserves soil health and supports beneficial microorganisms. This approach allows us to safely treat weeds near sensitive areas like ponds, waterways, and places frequented by children and pets. Additionally, our team benefits from reduced chemical exposure, enhancing their safety and well-being. The efficiency of the SW900 machine, which treats weeds three times faster than traditional manual methods, further underscores our commitment to providing top-tier, sustainable landscaping services.
